Media personality, Toke Makinwa, who had been creating buzz with her pregnancy has announced the arrival of her first child.
Toke Makinwa announced Thursday morning, 28 August, 2025, on her Instagram page that her baby girl has arrived. And she got the most beautiful names you too. Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa and Adunola.
As Toke revealed, the first name, Yakira Eliana, of Hebrew origin, means “My precious, beloved one—my God has answered.”
She went even deeper with the meaning, describing the name as one that carries both emotional and spiritual weight:
A name that speaks of deep love and divine blessing—a treasured child, dearly loved, whose arrival is the fulfilment of a heartfelt prayer. Yakira means you are cherished beyond measure, of great worth and value. Eliana means you are the living proof that God hears and answers.
It’s been such a beautiful journey for Toke, who first announced her pregnancy with a stunning, grand-themed video just weeks ago. That was followed by a baby shower where she revealed she was expecting a girl, plus more glowing baby bump photos and videos.
However there has been suspense over who is the father of the tinytot.
It would be recalled that
the renowned media personality, celebrated her 40th birthday with a grand thanksgiving event that was nothing short of spectacular on October 20, 2024.
The event was a beautiful blend of gratitude, style, and celebration, attended by some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Toke Makinwa made a dazzling entrance in a gorgeous white outfit paired with a stylish fascinator. She was ushered into the venue by the soulful tunes of celebrity saxophonist Beejay Sax, setting the tone for an evening filled with joy and elegance.
Toke sent tongues wagging after the event with the unveiling of a male partner,Farouk Umar who also rocked the party with Toke.
She later denied that she got married to entertainment guru, Farouk Umar, during her 40th birthday Thanksgiving party in Lagos.
Social media became rife with the rumours after images and videos of Toke and Farouk emerged online.
The duo were dressed in all-white outfits and appeared to be sharing lovey-dovey moments.
However, Toke has now denied she has remarried and insists she and Farouk are just friends.
“On Obasanjo’s internet, they said I got married to this guy,” Toke said.
“This guy is my best friend. Listen, on Toke Makinwa’s internet, they said I married Farouk.
“Farouk, my friend, ore mi.. this is my nigga and my friend, my brother, who wan marry you. Farouk held me down when there was nobody.”
Toke’s first marriage to fitness trainer, Maje Ayida, ended in 2017 after three years amid infidelity allegations.
