The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of two men accused of sexually assaulting their daughters in separate incidents reported in the Surulere and Amukoko areas of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who made this disclosure during a press briefing on Monday, 12 May, 2025 at the command headquarters in Ikeja, said one of the suspects, a 39-year-old man, was taken into custody for allegedly defiling his two daughters, aged 12 and 14, in the Surulere area.

According to Hundeyin, the suspect’s wife alerted the police, prompting an immediate investigation and subsequent arrest.

“A case of defilement was reported on April 30 in which the complainant reported on behalf of her two daughters against her husband. She alleged that her husband defiled their two daughters,” the state police image- maker said

Hundeyin said that a medical report had been obtained from a sexual assault referral centre to support the investigation, just as he also revealed that another suspect, a 48-year-old man, was also arrested for allegedly defiling his 16-year-old daughter in the Amukoko area of Lagos State.

“On April 29, at 9.30 p.m., detectives of the command received a report from a complainant who reported that her husband had carnal knowledge of his physically challenged daughter on several occasions.”

He disclosed that the suspect was caught in the act of sexually assaulting the minor at approximately 8:30 p.m. on the same day.

Following the report, Hundeyin said a team of detectives was dispatched to the scene of the alleged incident, where the suspect was promptly arrested.

He added that the survivor was taken to the General Hospital in Ajeromi for medical examination and treatment.
