Former Sweden head coach, Janne Andersson has made public his reason for rejecting  chance to manage the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Andersson was among the coaches linked with the vacant Super Eagles managerial job in the summer.

The 62-year-old was reportedly the leading candidate for the position at that period.

The gaffer said he rejected overtures from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the terms of the contract.

“Nigeria was very persistent and wanted me to take the job. There were many appealing aspects, but the overall situation wasn’t perfect. It didn’t feel 100 percent right, and it has to feel that way for me to fully commit,” he told Swedish newspaper Hallandsposten.

The 62-year-old also declared that he is cautious of his next move.

“It would take a lot for me to take on a new coaching job. I am selective and have other things going on, like mentorship and board roles,” he added.
