Passers-by and officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA) came to the rescue of a heavily pregnant woman on Monday, 19 February, 2024 when she suddenly went into Labour at Onipanu bus stop, Lagos and was subsequently delivered of a baby boy, reports thegazellenews.com.

Our correspondent learnt that the heavily pregnant woman was waiting to board a commercial bus when she suddenly went into Labour.

The incident occured around 9am as the woman unexpectedly went into Labour prompting passers-by to call LASEMA’s Emergency Response Team which responded immediately to the distress call.

LASEMA Response Team and the agency’s paramedics moved in swiftly, and in collaboration with some market women at the bus stop, provided a temporary makeshift to ensure the safe delivery of the baby and the well-being of the mother.

Fortunately, the woman was successfully delivered of a bouncing baby boy  amidst jubilation.

The Agencies officials after stabilizing the mother and newborn infant quickly transported them to nearest hospital for further medical care and attention.
