The Chairman of Humanitarian Resettlement and Welfare Committee of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), Engr. (Dr.) Wuraola Atinuke Owolabi, has extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims across the South-West, North Central region and the country, urging Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, resilience and unity for national development.

Owolabi, who is also the South-West Representative of the commission, conveyed the goodwill message in a statement issued to commemorate the Islamic festival, describing Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred celebration that reflects the virtues of obedience, faith and compassion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
She noted that the significance of the festival goes beyond celebration, stressing that it serves as a reminder of the values needed to build a peaceful and progressive society.
“On behalf of my family and the Humanitarian Resettlement and Welfare Committee of the North Central Development Commission, I wish to extend my warmest felicitations to our Muslim brothers and sisters across the South-West, the North Central region, and the entire nation on the auspicious occasion of Eid-el-Kabir,” she said.
Furthermore, Owolabi urged Nigerians to use the occasion to support vulnerable citizens, displaced persons and others facing hardship, noting that sacrifice remains at the core of the Sallah celebration.
“As we celebrate, let us remember that the true essence of Sallah lies in sacrifice by extending a helping hand to the vulnerable, the displaced, and those navigating difficult times,” she stated.
She also encouraged citizens to remain steadfast despite prevailing socio-economic challenges, emphasizing the importance of faith, resilience and collective commitment to regional growth and national renewal.
“Resilience means standing firm in faith and hope as we collectively work toward regional development and national rebirth,” she added.
The NCDC committee chairman stressed the need for peaceful coexistence and stronger unity among Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic, regional or cultural differences.
“Unity entails fostering peace, mutual respect, and harmonious coexistence across all regional and cultural boundaries,” she said.
Speaking on the mandate of the North Central Development Commission, Owolabi reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to humanitarian intervention, resettlement programmes and sustainable empowerment initiatives across communities.
“In line with our mandate at the NCDC, we remain fiercely committed to the humanitarian resettlement, welfare, and sustainable empowerment of our communities. True progress is only achieved when we lift each other up, ensuring no one is left behind,” she stated.
She further prayed for peace, prosperity and stability across the country as Muslims mark the celebration.
“May this Eid bring absolute peace to our homes, prosperity to our endeavors, and lasting stability to our great nation,” she added.
Owolabi concluded her message by wishing Muslims a joyful Eid celebration, saying, “Barka de Sallah! Eid Mubarak!”
