Former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable (Dr) Oluyinka Ogundimu was among members honoured for their service to Agege Sports Club at the 10th anniversary of the Club, reports thegazellenews.com

The 10th Anniversary cum Fund-raising event took place on Saturday, 26 October 2024 at the Johnson Agiri Hall, Oko Oba, Agege.

According to the President of the Club, Stanley Adiele, Dr Ogundimu was honoured for being the biggest supporter of the club.

“He’s always at our beck and call. He has been supporting us morally, physically, spiritually and most importantly, financially. There is no time we go to him that he turns us back. He is our pillar and that is why we have to appreciate him,” Adiele said.

President of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr Rafiu Ladipo, commended Ogundimu describing him as a dependable ally.

“I would have questioned the organisers of the award programme if your name was not on the list. You are a committed man and you are always in the forefront of struggle for the development and growth of sports not only in Agege and Lagos but also in Nigeria,” Dr Ladipo said.

The highlight of the anniversary celebration was the fund-raising for the complete rehabilitation of Ladoje Sports Centre in the Oko Oba area of the community.

Invited guests donated generously towards the project. Member of the House of Representatives for Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Honourable Moshood Olawale Oshun; member representing Alimoso State Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Kehinde Joseph; member representing Epe State Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Mustainu Abiodun Tobun; and the Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area, and Honourable RamotaLahi Akinola-Hassan were among the generous donors at the event.
