Religious clerics across the major faith have embarked on intensive prayers for an end to insecurity in the country just as they sued for continued peaceful coexistence across ethnic and religious divide for sustained socio-economic development of the nation.
They were also equally unanimous in their declaration for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and the APC Governorship candidate in Lagos, Dr. Kadri Hamzat during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
They made this prayer during the Interfaith prayer session organised by the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos held at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.
The clerics commended the ruling party for seeking divine intervention for sound health and protection of President Tinubu; his runniing mate, Kashim Shettima; Dr. Kadri Hamzat; and his running mate Damilola Sonayon-James; expressed optimisim of victory at the 2027 general elections.
While addresing the mammoth crowd at the gathering, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said that it was deliberate that the party committed the beginning of the electioneering process in the hands of God for divine direction.
He believed that the entire process will be peaceful adding that the race for 2027 has began assuring that all the candidates of the party across board will emerge victorious.
The Governor promised to lead the campaigns for re-election of the President, Governor and all the candidates of the party in the state.
On his part, the Governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Hamzat said that he believes in God for guidance and that the prayers offered will receive His blessings.
In his opening remarks by the Director General BAT-KOH, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro charged party members to continue with the house to house mobilisation towards overwhelming votes for all the candidates of the party.
Earlier, Hon. Mohammed Oyinlomo Danmole who noted that the month-long campaign will be rigorous assured that the party will focus on issues and scorecards of the President as well as the antecedents of Dr. Kadri Hamzat.
