Social media is buzzing after veteran Fuji musician KWAM I finally publicly acknowledged the son he shares with Yoruba movie actress Bisola Badmus — a child who has reportedly been in the background for 15 years.

They reunited and reconciled their differences during the housewarming, 30-year music celebration and a new album listening of Islamic singer Rukayat Alawiye, held at the Victoria Garden Event Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, on Thursday, 27 November, 2025.

On Thursday night, KWAM I shared a video on his Instagram page in which Abdulmalik, dressed in white, approached him on stage, and they shared a warm embrace.

While holding his son, the singer joyfully sang that the child had returned home. The crowd erupted in cheers, celebrating the heartfelt reunion.

“The child has returned home; Abdulmalik has returned. The son of Bisola Kafaya has returned home. Kafaya, this child will not falter; you suffered for him, and you will not weep,” he sang.

Bisola made headlines in 2024 when she revealed in an interview on the ‘Talk to B’ podcast that she required sponsorship to undergo brain surgery abroad.

Bisola had been battling encephalopathy, a serious brain condition.

She later secured a sponsor who offered her treatment options in the United States, the United Kingdom, or India.

The sponsor also covered her son’s secondary school fees, while another provided a university scholarship for him.

Bisola had alleged in the past that Kwam 1 failed to play an active role in Abdulmalik’s upbringing.

She alleged that the 68-year-old musician had abandoned his paternal duties, even though he had acknowledged Malik as his child.

Following her accusations, there was no public response from the singer, until their recent reunion.
