The Lagos State Sports Commission is set to host ‘Deep Dive & Lively Splash Time’ a swimming fiesta scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the newly renovated Rowe Park Swimming Pool in Yaba, reports thegazellenews.com
The event will feature friendly swimming competitions for school-aged athletes under 15 years, while celebrating the steadfast dedication of Lagos swim mums and dads who form the bedrock of the state’s aquatics development.

This event marks a significant milestone in Lagos State’s sports development agenda, serving as the soft re-launch of the Rowe Park Swimming Pool. Extensive renovations have transformed the facility into a modern aquatics centre that meets international standards.
The upgraded infrastructure demonstrates the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to providing facilities that match global benchmarks, ensuring Lagos athletes can train and compete at the highest levels within the state.

Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Lekan Fatodu, stated, “It’s a big splash reinforcement of the Lagos State Sports Commission’s mandate to promote mass participation in sports in Lagos and demonstrate the suitability of Lagos’ sporting landscape for multi-sports.”
The Lagos State Sports Commission, therefore extended invitations to all stakeholders in the education, sports, and youth development sectors to attend ‘Deep Dive & Lively Splash Time’ and witness firsthand the progress being made in Lagos aquatics.
