Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, RT Honourable James Abiodun Faleke hosted a stakeholders’ engagement with landlords and residents’ associations, Community Development Associations (CDAs), Community Development Committees (CDCs) and religious leaders across the Federal Constituency at the expansive compound of Blue Roof inside Lagos Television 8, on Thursday, 1 October 2026, the day marking the 66 anniversary of Nigeria’s independence, reports thegazellenews.com.

Speaking at the well-attended event, Faleke, who rolled out his achievements in the areas of construction, rehabilitation of roads with drainages, training of youths with cash backing and laptops, light up of streets in the constituency, provision of employments to thousands of youths, numerous educational projects, scholarship for students, provision of security vehicles to police stations to enhance security, expressed appreciation to the people of the constituency for their continued support during previous elections and reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation if voted into power again in 2027.

According to the former Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, his primary responsibility remained his legislative duties, lawmaking, while his empowerment programmes were designed to complement his efforts at improving the welfare and economic opportunities of his constituents.
While stating that many of his empowerment initiatives had received support from the Federal Government, Faleke added that requests, observations and concerns raised by stakeholders at the meeting had been noted and would receive appropriate attention.

He added that for what he has done so far for the Federal Constituency to continue, the residents must come out in their thousands and cast their votes for him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The lawmaker urged the residents not to allow a repeat of what happened in the last general elections where they sit at home thinking that APC and Tinubu will win Lagos easily.

Faleke maintained that President Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate and complete ongoing reforms and projects, just as he also urged constituents to ensure that their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were ready ahead of the 2027 elections and encouraged residents to participate actively in the electoral process.
“I am appealing to you this time around to come out in your large numbers with your voters cards, mobilise your neigbours, friends, relatives to come out and vote for APC for the meaningful developments Nigeria has witnessed under our performing party to continue. Youths, I am also appealing to you not to use the forthcoming election days to play on the streets. Those of you, who are of voting age, should come in your large numbers too to elect APC into power again for you to continue to enjoy what our administration has been doing in the last couple of years, ” the lawmaker said.

Faleke also used the gathering to defend the economic policies of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, which he described as fraudulent.
The lawmaker, who said that the reforms by the Tinubu-led APC administration had improved the financial capacity of states and local governments, enabling them to meet their salary obligations and undertake more infrastructure projects, said presently, all states and local government in the country are receiving almost times four of monthly allocation, which, according to him, has not been witnessed in Nigerian political history, courtesy of the removal of fuel subsidy.
According to Faleke, before the Tinubu administration came on board, 28 of Nigeria’s 36 states could not afford to pay the then minimum wage of ₦30,000, adding that the removal of the fuel subsidy and other economic reforms had subsequently increased resources available to the different tiers of government.

He added the increased allocations to states and local governments had enabled them to pay salaries and undertake numerous infrastructural development projects.
He also commended the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, economic reforms, youth development and women’s empowerment.
In his own address at the gathering, former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Olawale Edun said Nigerian economy is on the road to recovery under the hardworking President Tinubu, just as he also appealed to Nigerians to give him the support once again to continue in office in 2027 amd also continue his unprecedented good works he has embarked upon since he came into power four years ago.

“What President Bola Tinubu has done in just four years is unprecedented in Nigeria political history. More money are now there for federal, states and local governments to spend.
His score cards on infrastructural developments, economic recovery, employment opportunities for Nigerians, health institutions improvements, educational improvements among numerous others in other sectors are second to none.
“We have to bring him back again. He deserves it. We need to vote for him again and APC to power , and we must do better in 2027 more than we did in 2023 general elections,” Edun said.
Those presents at the august gathering were: former National Legal Adviser of the APC, Babatunde Ogala, (SAN); the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda; his Onigbongbo and Ojodu LCDAs counterparts, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, and Hon. Segun Odunmbaku respectively among other prominent APC chieftains.
