Soji Jacobs, son of late veteran actor Olu Jacobs, has revealed how his father deliberately protected his family’s private life despite being one of Nigeria’s most recognisable actors.
Speaking at the Night of Tributes in Lagos, Soji explained that as a child he did not experience his father primarily as a famous actor. To him, Olu Jacobs was simply his father.
He recalled that his father drew a clear line between his celebrity career and his family, protecting their privacy despite the enormous attention surrounding him.
The revelation has generated interest because it gives Nigerians a glimpse into how one of Nollywood’s most famous families handled celebrity life behind closed doors.
Olu Jacobs died aged 84, and his funeral is scheduled for Friday, 2 October, 2026.
