Tragedy has again hit the Nigerian gospel music industry following the death of gospel singer Taye Ojesina, popularly known as TJass, reports thegazellenews.com.
Fellow gospel Singer Olaniyi Olusegun Peters, confirmed the sad demise of the singer on his social media platform on Friday, 23 January, 2026.

“Another music minister. Taye Ojesina a.k.a TJass is dead. Oluwa saanu wa ooooooooooooo.” Peters wrote.

TJass’ death comes barely 11 days after the gospel music industry lost another minister, Bunmi Akinaanu, widely known for her emotional worship song “Omije Ojumi”.
Bunmi Akinaanu, fondly called “Omije Ojumi”, reportedly passed away after battling a health challenge that kept her out of the public eye for some time.
Her death stirred concern and prayers across social media, especially after reports emerged that efforts were being made to seek medical help for her condition.
