Purple is the colour of royalty and Princess Sarah Sosan, OFR, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State (2007-2011) left no stones unturned as she painted the town purple yesterday as part of celebrations to mark her 70th birthday.
Marquee Hall, Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, played host to the who-is-who is Lagos in a two-part event which started with a Thanksgiving Service and culminated in a star-studded reception party.

The event had former Governors of Lagos State: Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, CON; Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, FCA; former Deputy Governor, Dr. Femi Pedro; Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS) and Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, former Minister of State for Health and other political leaders from both State and Federal levels.
Members of UNILAG Alumni Association were also led to the venue by Engr. IfeOluwa Oyedele, FNSE, President Worldwide in the company of Asiwaju Dr. Michael Olawale-Cole, CON, MFR, and other members of the National Executive Council (NEC).

Glowing tributes were showered on the celebrant from family, friends, associates and other well-wishers and guests were serenaded to music from A-list gospel artistes including Beejay Sax and Toluwanimi Sings among others.
In her remarks, Princess Sarah Sosan thanked the guests for coming to celebrate with her and also dedicated all her victories in “life’s battles” to God. She specially thanked Mr. and Mrs Babatunde Fashola for their support over the years and particularly commended Dame Abimbola Fashola for putting up the party for her.
The celebrant dazzled the guests with iconic dances and an assortment of radiant outfits. It was a memorable evening of music, food and celebration of excellence.
