The Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, on Monday, 9 March, 2026, hosted Air Commodore M.A. Imam, Commander of 651 Base Services Group (BSG), Nigerian Air Force Base, Ikeja, at his office.The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the local government and the Nigerian Air Force, particularly in the areas of security of lives and property, community safety, and other strategic areas of mutual interest.
Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Akinpelu Johnson expressed his delight at receiving the Air Force delegation and emphasized the importance of partnership in maintaining peace and stability across communities in Alimosho.“I am indeed happy to receive you and your team. I assure you that we will do everything within our power to support your activities. It is through mutual synergy that we can work together as partners to ensure peaceful coexistence in our communities,” the Chairman said.


He further noted that his administration operates an open-door policy, placing strong emphasis on the welfare and economic empowerment of residents.
“Our administration takes the welfare of our people very seriously. We have implemented several social intervention programmes to support small business owners. Come Wednesday, March 11, 2026, we will be hosting another programme here in collaboration with the Lagos State Trust Fund (LSTF) to provide soft loans to business owners. We encourage your personnel to take advantage of this opportunity,” he added.

In his response, Air Commodore M.A. Imam thanked the Chairman for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to maintaining peace and security within its area of responsibility.
“It is our duty to ensure peace within this command, which spans several local government areas. That is precisely why we are here—to assure you of our readiness to work closely with you. Whenever you call on us, we will respond.”
The Air Force Commander also commended the initiative of the LSTF empowerment programme and confirmed that personnel from the base, particularly widows within the Air Force community, would participate in the scheme.“Our people will attend the event, especially widows within our base community. Thank you once again for receiving us. I believe this meeting marks the beginning of a productive and developmental relationship for the benefit of our people.”
The meeting concluded with the presentation of a commendation plaque to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, by Air Commodore M.A. Imam, in recognition of his exemplary leadership and the local government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to enhance security and community development.
