Alimosho Local Government,under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, held a historic ceremony in honour of the workers who retired from service between 2023 and 2025. The event, described as the first of its kind in the history of the council, brought together community leaders, management staff, family members and well-wishers to celebrate decades of dedicated service. The chairman noted that the initiative marked a new chapter in how Alimosho values and acknowledges its workforce.
In his address, the Chairman paid glowing tribute to the retirees, applauding their loyalty, sacrifice and unwavering commitment to public service. He emphasized that their contributions formed the backbone of Alimosho’s growth and administrative stability, stating that the council is stronger today because of their labour.

According to him, some retirees worked behind the scenes and others at the forefront, but all played indispensable roles in translating government policies into real community impact.
The Chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to restoring dignity to public service, noting that celebrating retirees would henceforth become a tradition in Alimosho. He stated that every worker deserves to feel valued, and every retiree must be accorded honour and respect for their years of service. He assured that his administration would continue to engage retired officers whenever their experience and institutional memory are needed.

He encouraged serving workers to draw motivation from the ceremony, reminding them that excellence and dedication will always be recognised.
The Chairman urged the retirees to embrace the next phase of their lives with joy and fulfilment, affirming that they remain part of the Alimosho family. The chairman concluded with prayers for the retirees and reaffirmed his commitment to building a government that respects, uplifts, and grows with its people.
