The Ogun State Government has commenced a crackdown on unapproved motorcycle operators’ associations operating across the state, warning them to immediately stop the illegal collection of revenues, levies and other government-related charges from commercial motorcycle operators. A gender rights organisation, Centre for Redefining Alternative Civic Engagem has documented 51 incidents of online gender-based violence (OGBV) against women during the Osun State governorship election held on August 15. The Federal Government has unveiled new regulations to tackle Nigeria’s growing plastic waste crisis, placing greater responsibility on producers, importers and other businesses for the recovery and proper management of plastic products after use.
