In a show of compassion to humanity, the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Atiku Bagudu has donated N10 million to families of deceased teachers of Atiku Bagudu Model Primary School Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state.
The kind gesture was by performed one of his aides, Bashar Aliyu Buhari alongside with Hajia Samira Nasir Idris in the premises of the primary school.
Buhari explained that teachers who taught in the school in 2004 were appreciated with cash and bags of rice.
“The gesture meant to assist the families of deceased teachers in the school to reduce their suffering during difficult times,” he said.
He noted that teachers are the backbone of education particularly primary teachers therefore they deserve rapt attention from members of the public to encourage them do more for the pupils under their care.
According to him, the Minister will continue to give assistance to youth in Kebbi state through several empowerments and skills acquisition to give meaning to their lives and reduce dependence on government.
