Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote’s longstanding relationship with his family, disclosing that Dangote personally drove his mother home from the hospital following his birth.
Davido made the revelation during a recent interview in Lagos while speaking about his relationship with Dangote, explaining that the billionaire has maintained a close bond with his family since his birth.
“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” he said.
The singer said Dangote has also offered him financial advice since childhood, remaining consistent over the years in urging him to save and manage his money whenever they meet.
“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” he said.
Davido said Dangote’s advice had remained relevant as he navigated his career in the entertainment industry.
He described billionaires as ordinary people despite their enormous wealth, saying their lifestyles were often different from public perception.
He said Dangote was a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, noting that the bond between the two families had spanned decades, tracing back to his own childhood and continuing into his adulthood.
