Famous Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, David Adeleke, popularly addressed as Davido, on Thursday, 30 July, 20926 disclosed that he is preparing to venture into acting, revealing plans to feature in films while expanding his footprint as a movie producer, reports thegazellenews.com.
The award-winning singer, who made this disclosure during an interview with Vibe Q on Thursday, 30 July, 2026, also spoke about his ambitions beyond music and his growing interest in the film industry.
According to the Osun State born multi- billionaire singer, he has always viewed creativity as something that constantly evolves, noting that musicians, like technology companies, must continue to innovate to remain relevant.
“Music evolves. Just like technology, Apple every year, they’re bringing out a new iPhone. That’s the same way I look at music. There’s always a new sound, there’s always a new creative idea, there’s always a new way to tell your story,” Davido, one of Africa’s biggest music stars, with multiple hit songs and international collaborations to his name, said.
Davido also disclosed that he is fully ready to take concrete steps into filmmaking, revealing that he is serving as executive producer on two movie projects this year in collaboration with music video director Dammy Twitch. He also hinted at an upcoming documentary, which he described as a major production.
According to him, despite his continued success in music, he is eager to broaden his creative horizons through film.
“I want to get into movies. I want to start acting soon. I have invested in two movie already as an executive producer. I also have a documentary coming. It is very very big. And yeah, I do want to act at some point in the future,” he said, just also reiterated that that music remains his first love, the singer said he is excited by the prospect of telling stories through different forms of entertainment, particularly the big screen.
