The former Chairman of the Edo State Football Association, Comrade Roland Abu, has disagreed with the publication that Mrs. Sabina Chikere does not want the Edo State FA election to hold because she needs an Etsako speaking person to be the chairman.
“Sabina Chikere, the Permanent Secretary on Sports, Edo State Sports Commission, has no business with the election processes in Edo FA, her position is advisory. Nobody should blame their inability to perfect arrangements to the process of elections, Abu posited.
He continued, “The chairman of the electoral committee is a bonafide Benin man and non of his committee members is from Etsako, not one Etsako man purchased form for the position of chairman. So where’s this defamation of character coming from?
“Those accusing Sabina Chikere, were once on her side and because they now realize she will not do what they want or expected, decided to assassinate her character. If you know you are qualified, then be bold to go and purchase form, then get ready for election and stop blackmailing and trying to drag an innocent woman’s name into the mud because of your selfish ambition.”
The experienced football administrator added conclusively, “I am watching and waiting for the election to hold. And if any unqualified candidate is allowed to contest and peradventure wins, then we will all meet in court including the committee in question. A word they say is enough for the wise.”
