The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of 15 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud activities in Lagos.According to a statement released by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media and Publicity at the Commission, the suspects were apprehended on Friday, April 25, during a sting operation conducted by operatives of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the EFCC. The operation took place at Maple and Jand Court, located within the Royal Pine Estate on Orchid Road, Lekki.The arrests followed credible intelligence received by the anti-graft agency concerning the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet-related fraud schemes.During the operation, EFCC operatives recovered several items from the suspects, including mobile phones, laptop computers, and vehicles.The Commission stated that the suspects will be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.The EFCC reiterated its commitment to tackling cybercrime and bringing perpetrators to justice.
