Years after the Nigeria Air project failed under the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari and then Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, the Federal Government is set to revive bid for a national carrier.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Ibrahim Kana, said there are plans by the President Bola Tinubu’s administration to revive the bid to float a national carrier.

According to Kana, the President has directed collaboration between the aviation industry and the head of the service to establish a national carrier and improve the security at the airports.

“The first task is to ensure that the national carrier comes to be, and the second task is to sanitise our airports across the country. All of us will agree that there is no better time to have a national carrier than now; in fact, yesterday,” Kana said.

Kana also said that the present administration is expected to deliver on the national carrier within a short period.
