Fiancé of late Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, has claimed that the movie star died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, contradicting widespread reports that she succumbed to breast cancer complications.

Onadeko made the claim during an interview on Saturday, 8 August, 2026 with Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), where he refuted long-held public assumptions regarding the actress’s final hours, including allegations of poisoning, domestic abuse and financial mismanagement.

The Shepherd-in-charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, revealed that an anonymous caller informed him of Osoba’s death in the early hours of the morning, disclosing that a random person called him around midnight to inform him that she died at a police station in Ikorodu.

While admitting he does not know the exact police facility where the incident occurred, the cleric noted that he subsequently presented himself to a nearby station to report the situation.

According to Onadeko, Osoba had travelled to meet a minister identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba, accompanied by her hairdresser, shortly before her death, explaining that they remained in constant communication throughout the trip until he received the shocking call.

The cleric used the platform to debunk viral social media rumours alleging that Osoba was maltreated by his family or poisoned, while also strongly denying claims that he embezzled funds donated for her medical treatment to build his cathedral.

He clarified that donations for Osoba’s treatment were sent to her own account and not his, insisting he never had access to her money, and disclosed that she received support from several individuals, including Chief Mike Adenuga, who offered her a cheque.

He explained that he met Osoba about two years ago, whereas his church was built 20 years earlier and had already been completed, roofed and painted long before she joined the congregation.

Addressing her medical history, Onadeko acknowledged that Osoba had previously battled breast cancer and undergone surgery at Evacare Hospital, but insisted the illness was not what took her life, noting that she had publicly celebrated surviving cancer in 2024, describing her recovery as a period of healing and personal renewal.

The prophet further addressed rumours regarding Osoba’s mobility and personal life, denying claims that she was barred from driving her vehicle recalling that she recently drove herself to Iperu to visit her maternal family, a journey he said he encouraged despite her initial reservations about her relations.

He also disclosed that Osoba was actively trying to overcome a smoking habit with his support and the awareness of church members.

Police authorities in Lagos State have yet to issue an official statement regarding the prophet’s claims as public interest in the circumstances surrounding the actress’s sudden death continues to grow.
