Gunmen in the early hours of Sunday, 13 September, 2026 invaded Saketa village in Dinawa Ward, Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and abducted eight residents, just as they also bolted away with livestock.
The incident, which was contained in a post shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine on the night of Sunday, 13 September, 2026, said the attackers, who were armed with dangerous weapons, stormed the community around 1:00 a.m. and reportedly spent several hours carrying out the operation.
According to him, the residents attempted to resist the attackers but the bandits overpowered them and escaped with eight people and several animals.
“Last night, bandits attacked Saketa village in Dinawa ward, Wurno LGA of Sokoto State, abducting eight residents and rustling several livestock.
“The bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, stormed the village around 1:00 a.m. midnight and reportedly spent hours carrying out the operation,” Bakatsine wrote.
