The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) is set to hold its 2025 General Assembly and Awards Ceremony slated for Sunday, 7 December, 2025, at the Eko Club Bamboo Elegushi Hall, Surulere, reports thegazellenews.com
The event commencing at 11:00 am is set to bring together eminent LASU Alumni and other important personalities across the nation.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, will deliver the Keynote Address at the event while one of his immediate predecessor and Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule will be Chairman at the event.
Royal fathers such as: Elegushi of Ikateland, His Royal Majesty, Saheed Elegushi; the Olumegbon of Lagos, Oba Kolawole Abdulateef Lawal; Oba Ajah, and Okun Ajah Kingdom, and Oba Surakat Noah Olayiwola Adefimihan; are expected at the event.


The spiritual father of the day is the Chief Imam of LASU, Prof. Kudus O. Amuni.
Special Guests of Honour at the event include: the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of Police, CP Lateef Ahmed, PhD, PSc; Chairman of the Conference 57 and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa; Chairman, Ojo Local Government, Hon. Muhibat Rufai- Adeyemi; Chairman, Egbe-Idimu LCDA, Hon. Prince Idris Balogun, among others.
Guest Lecturers are: former Lagos Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. AbdulAkeem Abdul-Lateef, while the 2nd Guest Lecturer is Dr. Munirudeen Salaudeen Arriyady, Mudeer, Zamzam and Lecturer at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED).
The theme for the 2025 Assembly is “Sustainable Economy: The Prophetic Model for Equity, Justice and Viable Economy.”

The Annual General Assembly aims to engage stakeholders in meaningful discussions and propose actionable strategies to ameliorate critical challenges bedeviling Nigeria. The current socio-economic condition of Nigeria is characterised by insecurity, kidnapping economic challenges, rising unemployment, tax complexities, and a pervasive lack of trust in leadership.
The AGM also seeks to encourage dialogue on innovative solutions that can lead to sustainable development and improved governance.

The Chairman of LASU Muslim Community, Prof. BR. Yusuf is the Chief host while LASU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi I. Olatunji-Bello, mni is the Grand host.
The LASUMA 2025 AGM and Awards Committee Planning Committee is chaired by Prof. Abideen Tijani while Mr. Mushafau Ige serves as the Secretary.
