The Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) is gradually emerging as a dynamic, youth-driven platform dedicated to leadership development, civic engagement and community transformation in Bauchi State. Inspired by the values and public service philosophy associated with Dr Bala Wunti, the organisation is positioning itself as an independent institution focused on nurturing a new generation of responsible leaders through mentorship, capacity-building and grassroots mobilisation.

With a clear vision of becoming a leading platform for youth leadership development in Bauchi State and beyond, BWSO has begun translating its ideals into concrete action through the appointment and strategic briefing of zonal and local government coordinators across various communities in the state.

These appointments represent more than a routine administrative expansion. They mark the beginning of a deliberate effort to institutionalise grassroots engagement, identify emerging talents across communities and create structured pathways for youth participation in leadership and community development.
By establishing leadership structures at both zonal and local government levels, BWSO is laying the foundation for a statewide network capable of mobilising young people, coordinating community-based initiatives and strengthening civic consciousness among the youth.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Communication Officer of BWSO, Abubakar Al-Sadique, which was made available to journalists Friday, 13 March, 2026, the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Arch. Muktar Jarmajo, described the emergence of the coordinators as the outcome of a careful and deliberate selection process designed to identify individuals, mostly young people, with proven commitment, integrity and dedication to community service.
“Your emergence marks the completion of an important organisational milestone. It moves BWSO beyond its early planning stage into a structured phase of programme implementation and grassroots engagement,” Jarmajo said.
He noted that the organisation’s expansion reflects its commitment to building a disciplined and sustainable platform where young people can develop leadership skills, engage in community service and contribute meaningfully to social progress.
Although inspired by the values of Dr Bala Wunti, BWSO operates as an independent civic organisation that is intentionally positioned outside the framework of electoral politics. Its primary focus is on building human capacity, empowering communities and cultivating a culture of responsible leadership among young people.
The organisation was founded to promote ideals commonly associated with Dr Bala Wunti, particularly service to humanity, commitment to community development, respect for institutions, responsible leadership and compassion in governance.
Rather than focusing on political mobilisation, BWSO seeks to translate these values into practical initiatives that prepare young people for leadership and social responsibility.
Within this framework, the newly appointed coordinators will play a central role in advancing the organisation’s mission of bringing young people together under a common platform for mentorship, skill development and civic engagement.
Their presence across local communities ensures that the vision behind BWSO is not confined to organisational headquarters but becomes a living grassroots movement driven by participation, shared responsibility and collective action.

Through its expanding network, BWSO aims to identify emerging leaders, encourage volunteerism and promote initiatives that address the developmental needs of local communities.
By doing so, the organisation hopes to cultivate a generation of socially conscious young individuals equipped with the knowledge, values and leadership skills required to positively shape the future of their communities.
During the orientation and strategic briefing session, Arch. Jarmajo emphasised that BWSO is built on the belief that leadership must be nurtured through discipline, integrity, accountability and a strong commitment to public service.
He further explained that the organisation will operate as a system-driven institution guided by clearly defined structures, transparency and professionalism, principles he described as essential for building a credible and impactful organisation.
According to him, the coordinators will serve as the organisation’s operational anchors at the grassroots, responsible for mobilising community participation, coordinating development-oriented initiatives and strengthening the presence of BWSO across the state.
Their responsibilities will also include engaging young people, facilitating mentorship opportunities and ensuring that the organisation’s programmes respond meaningfully to the needs and aspirations of communities.
Beyond its organisational structure, BWSO’s operational framework is guided by a number of strategic focus areas that reflect its broader philosophy of human development and social transformation.
These include humanitarian outreach and social welfare, youth and women empowerment, education and human capital development, healthcare improvement, technology advancement and leadership development.
Through programmes in these areas, the organisation aims to address both immediate social challenges and the long-term task of preparing young people to take on leadership roles in their communities and institutions.
The appointment of coordinators across different zones and local governments therefore represents an important step in BWSO’s journey toward building a sustainable platform for mentorship, leadership development and community service in Bauchi State.
Responding on behalf of the newly appointed coordinators, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar reaffirmed their collective commitment to advancing the vision of BWSO across all communities in the state.
He assured that the coordinators would work diligently to ensure that the organisation’s programmes reach young people at the grassroots and contribute meaningfully to community development.
Ultimately, BWSO’s growing grassroots structure reflects a broader ambition: to transform the values that inspired its creation into a practical framework for youth empowerment, civic responsibility and social change.
By investing in mentorship, leadership training and community engagement, the organisation hopes to build a pipeline of capable young leaders who will continue to promote service, integrity and development in Bauchi State and beyond.
