A Muslim-owned religious organisation operating across the five divisions of Lagos State, Ibile Muslims Community Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation, has disbursed over N25 million to indigent beneficiaries in the state.
This was revealed in its 2025 Disbursement and Impact Report released on Thursday, 12 March, 2026.

According to the report, the foundation, which debuted in June 2024, a total of N25,954,167.48 was disbursed to 161 beneficiaries spread across the Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos and Epe divisions of the state.
The beneficiaries were grouped into four categories: education, healthcare, economic empowerment and humanitarian intervention.

A breakdown of the disbursements showed that education attracted the highest allocation, with 87 student beneficiaries sharing a combined sum of N13,364,167.48.
Among them were 39 undergraduates, 13 Master’s degree students and 11 PhD holders, alongside 13 Thanawiyyah (senior secondary) and 11 Iddadiyyah (junior secondary) students.
On healthcare, the report disclosed that the LASHMA portal’s inability to process bulk payments forced the foundation to process premiums individually. “Due to the LASHMA portal’s inability to process bulk payments, an interim payment arrangement was adopted whereby funds were transferred to the Foundation’s Administrative Coordinator, who processed the payments individually on behalf of the Imams,” the report said.
In the healthcare category, the sum of N2,890,000 was disbursed as insurance premiums for 41 Imams, while 32 traders shared a combined N7,700,000 under economic empowerment.
In the economic empowerment category, the report noted that one beneficiary from the Ikeja division was disqualified for a policy violation, having been found to be engaged in the sale of alcoholic beverages.
The family of the late Imam Taofiki Abdus-salam was the sole beneficiary under humanitarian intervention, receiving N2,000,000.
By division, Ikorodu recorded the highest disbursement at N6,186,624.66, followed by Badagry with N5,798,897.81, Lagos with N4,397,847, Epe with N4,003,267.63 and Ikeja with N3,567,530.38.
The report nonetheless stated that the disbursement process recorded zero fraud and was underpinned by multi-layer verification involving a screening committee and secretariat oversight
The report noted that the disbursement process was embedded with multi-layer verification by a screening committee and secretariat oversight.
The report read, “The disbursement exercise, coordinated by the Steering
Committee in collaboration with the Secretariat, was executed in strict compliance with the established no-cash disbursement policy and was underpinned by the principles of transparency, accountability, and sustainability.
“Limited exceptions to the no-cash policy were approved on a case-by-case basis for traders dealing in highly perishable goods, in order to mitigate potential losses and ensure operational continuity, while maintaining overall policy integrity.
“Each trader provided a guarantor letter duly issued by their divisional Imam to substantiate their application.”
According to the report, the foundation described itself as “ready for scale, replication, or continuity funding based on verified execution,” with key strengths including a no-cash policy, multi-layer verification and full documentation.
