The Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has commended the Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, for his continued commitment to supporting education and the welfare of pupils across the constituency.
Hon. Benson gave the commendation while acknowledging the back-to-school support initiative facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson for pupils of Abejoye Primary School, Igbokuta, and United Native African (UNA) Primary School, Oke-Agbo, describing the gesture as a timely intervention that would contribute meaningfully to the educational development and well-being of children in the community.
At Abejoye Primary School, Igbokuta, school bags were presented to the pupils on behalf of Rep. Benson by a delegation comprising key stakeholders from Imota LCDA and members of the iCARE Foundation. The delegation was led by the Vice Chairman of Imota LCDA, Princess Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh.
Other members of the delegation included: the Leader of the Imota Legislative Arm, Hon. Oluwole Ademola Adeshina; APC Ward D Youth Leader, Rotimi Azeez; Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development, Hon. Odumosu Abiodun Ashaka; Special Adviser on Education and Library Services, Hon. Morayo Solarin Akinyemi; Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture, Hon. Felicia Igwe; alongside members of the iCARE Foundation.
The delegation subsequently extended the back-to-school support to United Native African (UNA) Primary School, Oke-Agbo, where another set of pupils received school bags.
Speaking during the presentation, Princess Abisoye Omowunmi Jimoh conveyed Rep. Benson’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the learning environment and enhance the educational experience of children within the constituency.
The Council Chairman noted that providing essential educational materials at the beginning of a new academic session would help ease some of the financial burdens faced by parents and guardians, while encouraging pupils to return to school with renewed confidence and enthusiasm. He added that such interventions underscore the importance of collaboration among elected representatives and stakeholders in addressing the educational needs of residents.
The Head Teacher of Abejoye Primary School, Mrs. Kayode Bridget Funmilayo, who spoke on behalf of the school, expressed appreciation for the gesture. Similarly, the Head Teacher of UNA Primary School, Mrs. Olowokere Funmilola, commended Rep. Benson for extending the intervention to the school and supporting the educational needs of its pupils.
