The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, 19 September, 2026, for the conduct of five by-elections across four states, namely Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta.
The Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr Tunde Oketola, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday, 8 September, 2026 in Abuja, explaining that the by-elections comprised one federal constituency and four state constituencies.
According to Oketola, the federal constituency by-election will hold at Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State, while the state constituency by-elections will take place at Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi State, as well as Udu State Constituency in Delta State and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State.
