The trial of Seun Kuti scheduled for hearing today, Tuesday, 23 May, 2023 at the Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos State was adjourned till tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 May, 2023, as a result of the Judge’s absence, just as supporters of the musician gathered outside the court to demand for his release.
Justice Adeola Olatubosun of the Chief Magistrates Court has adjourned the trial of Afrobeat musician, to tomorrow, Wednesday, 24 May, 2023.
The protesters held posters and banners with inscriptions such as “End police brutality,” “Free Sun Kuti,” and others.
Seun Kuti was arrested for assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland bridge, prompting the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to order his arrest.
