The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio has named the Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the Red Chamber, Senator Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni as the Chairman of the Committee on Marine Transport, reports thegazellenews.com.
The Senate President announced the appointment on the floor of the Senate on Monday, 7 August, 2023, during plenary session.
Before his election into the Senate, Senator Eshilokun Sanni has a rich legislative experience spending 12 years in the Lagos State House of Assembly, eight of which he was the Assembly Deputy Speaker.
He also has rich experience at Executive level serving as a two-term Chairman of the oldest Local Government in Nigeria, Lagos Island Local Government as well as serving as a Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the later’s second term as Governor of Lagos State.
Administratively, he has served as the Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) before it merged with other parties to form the All Progressives Congress (APC).
