The Council Manager of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Mr. Bakare, has died after a prolonged illness, according to information made available by close associates of the late administrator.

Bakare, who was said to be in his late fifties, reportedly died a few days ago in India where he had been receiving treatment for a cancer-related ailment.
His death was confirmed in a condolence message shared by Duke Olabode Garbadeen Odusanya Sakirudeen, who described the late Council Manager as a dedicated public officer and a personal friend.

In the message, Odusanya said the news of Bakare’s death came as a painful loss, noting that the deceased had served diligently and earned respect among colleagues in the course of his career in the local government service.
“Amuwo Odofin Local Government Council Manager, Mr. Bakare, dies after a protracted illness. The Council Manager, in his late fifties, died of cancer-related ailment in India few days ago,” he stated.
He described the late official as a calm and intelligent officer who carried out his duties with professionalism, adding that he had worked with him on several occasions.
“Bakare was a level-headed, brilliant officer whom I had worked with variously in the past. He was a friend and brother. He shall be sorely missed. So painful losing him this early,” he said.
Odusanya prayed for the repose of the deceased, expressing hope that his family and associates would find strength in the difficult moment.
“May his tender soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
The late Bakare was widely regarded by colleagues as a committed administrator whose contributions to local government administration would be remembered by those who worked closely with him.
