The Lagos State University Muslim Alumni (LASUMA) has congratulated its distinguished member, Alhaji Ridwan Tunji Disu, on his appointment as Acting Inspector General of Police by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In a press statement issued on behalf of its Board of Trustees, Advisory Council, Executive Council and entire membership, LASUMA expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and described the appointment as well deserved.
The statement was e-signed by Dr. Abdul-Azeez A. Anjorin (MNYA), President of LASUMA.
The association said the elevation of Disu to the nation’s top policing position reflects his professionalism, integrity, dedication to national service and longstanding commitment to excellence.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, Advisory Council, Executive Council, and the entire members of the Lagos State University Muslim Alumni, we are highly delighted and give special thanks to Allah as LASUMA heartily congratulates and prays for our distinguished member, Alhaji Ridwan Tunji Disu, on his well deserved appointment as the Acting Inspector General of Police,” the statement read.
The alumni body added that the appointment by President Tinubu represents a significant milestone not only for Disu but also for the association and its alma mater. It noted that his emergence at the highest level of national security leadership stands as a source of immense pride.
“This significant elevation is a testament to his professionalism, integrity, dedication to national service, and longstanding commitment to excellence,” LASUMA stated, while celebrating what it described as a historic achievement.
Furthermore, the association said it takes immense pride in Disu’s emergence as a worthy ambassador of Lagos State University in the critical sphere of national security. It prayed that his tenure would usher in renewed confidence, justice and strengthened security across the country.
“We pray that the Almighty Allah grants him wisdom, courage, sound judgment, and divine guidance in the discharge of this great responsibility, and that his tenure will usher in renewed confidence, justice, and strengthened security across the entire nation,” the statement added.
LASUMA concluded with prayers for greater accomplishments ahead, saying, “Barakallāhu fīh to our distinguished alumnus, Ag. IGP Ridwan Tunji Disu. May this appointment mark the beginning of even greater accomplishments in service to Nigeria and humanity in general.”
