Leading pharmaceutical company, Biomedical has added another glorious feather to its cap after being listed as recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit Award (NPOM).
Biomedical was listed in the Corporate Organization category for the Year 2022 by the National Productivity Center of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The award recipients were announced via a publication signed by the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Productivity Center, Dr Nasir Olaitan Raji-Mustapha.
Since the buy over of the company in 2015 by astute business man and industrialist, Chief Idowu Osuolale Obasa, Biomedical’s fortunes have continued to rise astronomically.
Till date, Biomedical remains the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to manufacture and distribute intravenous fluids, dialysis and irrigation fluids as well as oral rehydration salts (ORS).
It is on record that Biomedical Limited is the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to produce “Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD)” which is used to remove waste products and excess fluids from the blood. It is a complementary option to the more traditional of Hemodialysis (HD).
The Birth of CAPD (1.5% & 2.5%) goes to underscore Biomedical’s long history of being a pioneering company in the critical care management of the Nigeria healthcare system.
The Company currently has about 16 different range of intravenous products and another 22 different range of syrup products being manufactured, marketed & distributed across the country.

Biomedical is the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to manufacture and distribute intravenous fluids, dialysis and irrigation fluids and oral rehydration salts (ORS).
Production commenced on August 21, 1981 at our factory located in Ilorin, Kwara state.
In 2015, the company witnessed a tremendous transformation and expansion sequel to the full acquisition by Bradford Group under the staunch leadership of Hon. Idowu Osuolale Obasa.
Biomedical Limited having successfully established leadership in the IVF sub sector of the pharmaceutical industry, is reinforcing its commitment to Nigeria’s healthcare delivery system by raising the bar once more as the Liquid Oral Preparation production was launched with the commissioning and completion of the state-of-the-art syrup manufacturing facility in Ilorin, 2019.

It also does not require a capital-intensive infrastructure (clinics and personnel) making it an ideal for use in developing countries like Nigeria where many people with kidney disease currently go untreated mainly because of the high cost of treatment associated with HD.This method reduces the on-hospital services and attention of doctors and nurses in the treatment of renal failure.
