The Vice Chairman of Alimosho Local Government in Lagos and also All Progressive Congress(APC) chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government poll in the council, Honourable Akinpelu Johnson on Tuesday, 17 June, 2025 flagged off his campaign with a vow to embark on massive agricultural programme to boost food production in the council area.
Speaking at the well attended event held at his campaign office in Lagos, Johnson said aside embarking on a massive agric programme, he also promised to put in place massive infrastructure development in the council area, provide good health facilities for residents, give the education sector a facelift among others.
“If voted into power, of which I am sure of, I am going to embark on an agricultural revolution yet to be witnessed in Alimosho Local Government. Food is very important for the people and for this we are going to put measures in place to provide food for our people. Not only that, we are also going to improve on existing infrastructure, boost the health sector, take the issue of education seriously, provide good security for the people, among others,”Johnson said.
The APC chairmanship candidate told party faithful present at the event that for him to achieve victory, party members must embark on a house to house campaign to solicit for votes, adding that with this he and his deputy, Adebisi Francis are sure of victory and they are not going to disappoint them.
“Today, we have been given flags of the party to represent you. We are now going into a serious election proper and I am using this opportunity to call on you to embark on a house to house campaign, mobilise people to vote for our great party.
“We are not going just to win but to win convincingly. For this to happen, we need to have massive votes to show that APC is the only recognized and most important party in the local government. We have all it takes to achieve victory because we are the party of the people. I and my deputy are assuring you that we are not going to disappoint you. Two of us are sure to clinch victory with your support and by God’s grace, we will achieve the much desired results,” he said.
Johnson also assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the people of Alimosho local government are fully behind him in his ambition to return to office.
According to him, the President has done a lost since, “he became the President two years ago. We have seen how he has revamped the economy, improved the agricultural sector, provide employment to millions of Nigerians youths, provide massive infrastructures across the length and breadth of the country.
“That is why we are going to support him. That is why millions of residents of the council will support his candidature in 2027. He has performed remarkably well to make this country great. He deserves a second term in office and we the people of Alimosho Local government are assuring him of huge votes in his quest to become the President for the second term .This is what we are going to do for him as his trusted people.We will come out to vote for him to continue his good works in office. We are not going to disappoint him”.
