Organisers and contestants of the Miss Surulere Heritage Pageant 2026 paid a courtesy visit to the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Idris Aregbe, to express appreciation for his support and seek continued collaboration in promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage through pageantry.

The visit took place on Tuesday, 11 August, 2026, as part of activities surrounding the pageant, which commenced on Monday, 10 August , and will run through Friday, 14 August, 2026, when the grand finale will be held and the winners crowned.

In his remarks, Aregbe commended the organisers for leveraging the pageant to promote culture, leadership and community impact among young girls in Surulere, reaffirming his commitment and that of the Lagos State Government to initiatives that empower youths and project the rich heritage of Surulere and Lagos State.

He said initiatives of this nature were important because they gave young girls a platform to showcase not just beauty but culture, leadership and purpose, commending the organisers for their vision and pledging continued support for programmes that build the future of girls and celebrate the heritage of Surulere.

He urged the contestants to use the opportunity to positively project the image of Surulere and wished them success at the grand finale.

Also speaking, the leader of the visiting delegation and Special Adviser on Tourism, Arts and Culture for Surulere Local Government, Fuwad Odofin, appreciated the Lagos State Government and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture for their unwavering support for the programme.

The Show Producer, Adebayo Adegbe, thanked Aregbe for his consistent support for youth and heritage-driven initiatives in Surulere, noting that the pageant, themed Pride of Surulere, Heritage of Lagos, Future of Our Girls, was conceived to celebrate culture, leadership potential and the future of young girls in the community. He said activities lined up for the pageant included leadership training, fashion, cultural displays and other programmes.

Adegbe formally invited the Special Adviser to grace the grand finale on Friday, where the maiden queens of the Miss Surulere Heritage Pageant will emerge.
