Kano Pillars technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede has reacted to his team’s impressive home victory over Doma United.
The Sai Masu Gida handed down a 4-1 defeat on Doma United in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday four encounter at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Sunday, 20 September, 2026.
The defeat was Doma United’s first in the NPFL this season, while Pillars are yet to taste defeat.

Doma United responded after the break, pulling a goal back through Sadiq Rilwan in the 53rd minute to threaten a comeback. Kano Pillars answered emphatically, however, with Ahmed Musa and Nasiru Salihu both finding the net to seal a convincing 4-1 win for the hosts.
Speaking to the club’s media, Ogunmodede admitted he had expected a difficult encounter against a Doma United side that had won all three of their opening matches without conceding, but said the team had prepared thoroughly, helped by having a free weekend beforehand to focus fully on the opponent.
The coach also explained the adjustments made after Doma United pulled a goal.
