Ogun screens 19, 691 Pupils Into Flagship Schools

No fewer than 19,691 primary school pupils in Ogun State have been screened into its 42 Flagship Secondary Schools for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.

The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, while monitoring the screening examination process in Ijebu-Ode, Ikenne and Sagamu Local Government Areas of the state, expressed satisfaction over the learners and parents’ conduct during the exercise, promising to provide transformational initiatives for smooth academic pursuit.

Prof. Arigbabu, accompanied by the Director of Education, Department of Curriculum and Evaluation, Mr. Temitope Lasilo, assured that learners of flagship and other public schools would be in a conducive learning environment to enhance quality teaching and learning, enjoining parents to support government by providing books, sandals and school uniforms for their children, as well as instil discipline in their lives.

Speaking, Principals of Ijebu-Ode Grammar School (Senior), Mr. Olusesan Odufuwa; Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode, Mrs. Oludolapo Lekuti; Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode, Mrs. Taibat Jimoh; Mayflower School, Ikenne (Senior), Mrs. Matilda Olayinka and her Junior School counterpart, Mr. Olubunmi Osiname, affirmed adequate and timely supply of examination materials.

Appreciating the government on behalf of parents, Mr. Afolabi Abiodun and Mrs. Oluwakemi Tijani, commended the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration for improving standard of education, promising parents’ cooperation with government in building the future of their wards.

Other schools visited were Remo Secondary School, Sagamu and Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode.
