Police have reportedly arrested Prophet Itunu Onadeko, the lover and fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, as investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Itunu was reportedly taken into police custody on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, alongside a hairdresser whose identity has not been publicly disclosed.
The development was announced by an associate and close friend of the late actress, Akeem, popularly known as “Oko Awon Single Mothers,” who shared an update on social media.
Tope Osoba died on August 4, 2026, following a period of health challenges. Her death generated public concern after some of her friends and associates raised allegations about events surrounding her final days.
The allegations included claims that Itunu had allegedly isolated the actress from some members of her family and colleagues, as well as accusations concerning her finances, career and personal wellbeing.
Itunu has denied the allegations. In an earlier interview with Celestial Reality Check, he claimed that Osoba approached him about marriage after visiting his church for prayers.
He also made allegations concerning the actress’s alleged drug use, which have not been independently established.
Following the controversy, the actress’s family reportedly postponed her burial to allow authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
According to Akeem, another individual identified as Pelumi, who has been mentioned in allegations surrounding the case, remains at large.
He expressed hope that the investigation would establish the facts and lead to justice for the late actress.
The reported arrests do not amount to a finding of guilt, and the allegations against the suspects remain subject to police investigation and due process.
