Succor came the way of to the families of 25 police officers who died in the line of duty in Katsina State on Tuesday, 15 September, 2026 as the state police command presented cheques totalling N28 million to them.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage, presented the cheques on Tuesday, 15 September, 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Command Headquarters in Katsina as part of a welfare package initiated by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for families of officers who paid the supreme price in service to the nation.
The state police chief, who urged the beneficiaries to use the financial assistance judiciously to meet their immediate needs and secure their future, also commended the Inspector-General of Police for his commitment.
Fage, while addressing the beneficiaries, expressed condolences to the families and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased officers, just as he also described the fallen personnel as “gallant men who served the nation with dedication”, stressing that their sacrifices would not be forgotten.
