Veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has fired back at critics claiming she suffers from arthritis, dismissing the speculation as baseless following the emergence of a video showing her dancing.

The actress addressed the controversy via her Instagram page, @ritaedochie, after trolls questioned her health following the viral clip.

In a fiery response, Edochie challenged her critics to explain how they could mistake her active, flexible lifestyle and frequent travels for a physical limitation, describing the claims as both baseless and driven by jealousy.

Reacting to the speculation, she condemned the commenters’ behaviour and asked whether those spreading the rumour could see their own mothers being as active as she is.

“Can their mothers ever be as strong, active, energetic, and flexible as I am? Impossible!” she wrote.

The actress explained that she had been moving around, travelling and standing for hours while promoting her movie, insisting that such activity contradicted claims of any physical ailment.

She added that her critics were driven by jealousy, given that she was currently trending and receiving significant attention online.

“Your empty head can only find arthritis to talk about,” she said.

Edochie cautioned people against criticising others on social media, warning that such attacks could push victims into depression.

She maintained that she would not allow her critics to deter her from using social media or sharing updates with her followers.
