SAZU Unveils Career Service Centre, Entrepreneurship Development Centre; Commissions 500KVA Generator at Yuli Campus

Sa’adu Zungur University(SAZU) has unveiled a new Career Service Centre, Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Commissioned a 500KVA Generator at Yuli Campus of the university. 

Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Weekend,Vice Chancellor of Sa’adu Zungur University, Professor Fatimah Tahir said these centres which are set to bridge skills gap and enhance employability, would not serve only the students, but also staff, the university community and by extension the larger surrounding communities. 

“This projects mark a pivotal moment in our institutional development reflecting our steady progression towards becoming a true Centre of Excellence in Scholarship across diverse academic disepline,” Tahir said. 

The Career Service Centre and the Entrepreneurship Development Centre are fully finance by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFund, while the 500KVA Generator is being provided by the university. The VC therefore expressed gratitude to TETFund for the partnership and support. 

The Prof. also appreciated efforts of the Bauchi State governor toward supporting the university. “Let me also extend our deepest appreciation to His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, (Kauran Daular Usmaniyyah), the Executive Governor of Bauchi State and our Visitor, for his strategic leadership, enduring support and unflinching commitment to the progress of this university.”

“His investment in education continues to inspire the direction and depth of our institutional growth,” Tahir said. 

In his remarks, Director Human Resources and Career Development Centre Dr. Wasilu Suleiman said the Centre is designed to equip the students and the Alumni with up to date skills, knowledge, and opportunities to thrive in an ever evolving global world place. He said the Centre would also serve as a backbone of students’ career empowerment in the university. 

Also speaking was the Director Entrepreneurship Development Centre Dr. Salisu Ibrahim Waziri, who said the Centre has two main areas of services, which are skills acquisition and vocational training, as well as mindset development. He said the main target of establishing the Centre is to bridge the gap between the demand for, and the supply of Labour. 

The event was attended by top government officials and representatives of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFund, marking a significant milestone in the history of Sa’adu Zungur University toward achieving academic excellence. 

The Vice Chancellor urged beneficiaries to make the most use of the centres to acquire necessary skills. 

The university has replicated the centres in its Gadau and Misau campuses, demonstrating its commitment to providing quality education and empowering its students and community.
