Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has said that the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration have created more funds for the development of the country, citing his state as a direct beneficiary of the increased allocation.
The Governor spoke on Saturday, 9 August, 2026, when he received members of the Presidential Media Team/Renewed Hope Ambassadors (PMT/RHA), who were in the state to inspect ongoing state and federal projects.
Sule disclosed that Nasarawa State had, with the increased funds made available from the federation account, executed projects worth over N90bn without recourse to bank borrowing.
He lauded President Tinubu for the audacious steps he took upon assumption of office to remove fuel subsidy and liberalise foreign exchange rates, noting that the reforms had significantly boosted the state’s monthly allocation.
He said, “We were getting N4.5 billion as monthly allocation from the federation account until President Tinubu boldly removed fuel subsidy and introduced other economic reforms. Following the removal of fuel subsidy, we now receive between N14 billion to N16 billion monthly.”
The governor said the increased funding had enabled his administration to execute several projects in education, health and agriculture aimed at adding value to the lives of Nasarawa residents.
“All the projects we are doing in Nasarawa today are fully funded by the cash given to us by President Tinubu, and we have to give him due credit,” he said.
Sule explained that he had prioritised education by building skills acquisition centres to teach residents how to earn a living, as well as a post-retirement skill acquisition scheme to help retirees learn skills to sustain themselves.
He further disclosed that the state’s two lithium production plants were operational as a result of the enabling policies of the Tinubu administration, which he said had created a conducive climate for industrialisation to thrive in Nasarawa and across Nigeria.
Speaking during the visit, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Chief Bayo Onanuga, who led the media team to the Government House, said Nigerians were now reaping the benefits of the painful decisions President Tinubu took upon assumption of office in 2023.
He said, “Democracy in the past three years has been very active and beneficial than previously.”
The PMT/RHA delegation is in Nasarawa State to inspect projects being carried out by both the federal and state governments.
