Business mogul Tony O. Elumelu has reflected on his early career as a photocopier salesperson after stumbling upon an old business card from that period of his life.

Elumelu made the disclosure in a recent post shared via his verified X handle, @TonyOElumelu, recounting how the find brought back memories of his days as a young, hungry sales representative learning the fundamentals of resilience, negotiation and grit.

He said those lessons have stayed with him over the years and continue to shape how he approaches business and engages with customers today.

The business card, which surfaced alongside the post, identified him as Tony Elumelu, B.Sc. (Hons), Sales Executive at Precissa Sales Limited, with a listed address at 8 Bode Thomas Street, Surulere, Lagos.

Elumelu described the discovery as a reminder of how present discipline shapes future identity.

“It’s also a reminder that who you become tomorrow is often shaped by the foundation you lay today; the discipline, hard work, and consistency you put in when no one is watching,” he said.

He urged his followers to remain committed to growth. “Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep executing,” he said.

Elumelu noted, with humour, that the phone number and address listed on the old card were no longer functional. “As for the phone number and address on the card? Long gone,” he said.
