Veteran actor, Yinka Quadri, has revealed that his late best friend and colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, told him at the hospital, hours before his death, not to cry, assuring him that nothing bad would happen.
Quadri disclosed this in a lengthy Instagram post on Wednesday, 26 August, 2026 speaking publicly for the first time since he was seen crying at Ogogo’s funeral.
He described the pair as twins from heaven, born to different mothers.
“I have always said that we were twins from heaven, only born to different mothers,” he said.
Recounting his last visit to Ogogo at the hospital, Quadri said he could not hold back his tears at the sight of his friend on the sick bed.
“I will never forget the last time I saw you at the hospital. You were lying on your sick bed, and when I saw you, I could not hold back my tears. You looked at me and said, ‘Yinka, don’t cry. Nothing bad will happen to me.’ And I responded, ‘Yes, Amen,'” he wrote.
Ogogo, moments later, asked him for a bottle of water on the table, Quadri narrated. After drinking from it, Ogogo drew attention to the fact that he was able to do so despite having eaten earlier that morning.
“A few minutes later, you asked me to give you the bottle of water on the table. I gave it to you, and you drank from it. Then you looked at me and said, ‘Yinka, can you see that I drank the water, even though I ate this morning?’ You asked the doctors to confirm whether it was true that you had eaten that morning, and they confirmed it,” he recounted.
The development strengthened his hope and faith at the time, Quadri said, even as doctors urged them to remain prayerful. “At that moment, I said ‘glory be to God’. My hope and faith became even stronger. But the doctors only advised us to remain prayerful,” he said.
Ogogo died on Sunday, 23 August, at the age of sixty-six, and was buried in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
