There are updates on thegazellenews.com’s report on Christmas and New Year packages for local government workers in Lagos State with more local governments unveiling their staff welfare packages for the yuletide.
Thegazellenews.com had earlier reported yuletide packages of some councils in the state for their workers, a subject that has generated reactions from council workers in the state.

In the last report, Chairmen of Alimoso Local Government, Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area, Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Apapa LG, Ifako-Ijaiye LG, Ibeju-Lekki LG and Odiolowo-Ojuwoye LCDA received praises from their workers for making the festive celebrations worthwhile for them.
Further information coming to thegazellenews.com revealed that the Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Oluwafemi Daniel Odunayo, towered above his colleagues with his splendid yuletide package for the council’s workers.

“Our Chairman (Odunayo) is the best in Lagos State. His yuletide package is the best across the state,” a worker in the council told thegazellenews.com
Indeed, this medium learnt that Odunayo approved N70,000 for each staff, N60,000 for each non-pensionable staff, in addition with Kampala material worth N12,000 for each pensionable and non-pensionable staff.
The three Chairmen in Ojo Federal Constituency: Princess Muhibat Rufai, Ojo; Yisa Jibril, Iba LCDA; and Azeez Abiodun Kareem, Otto-Awori LCDA paid N50,000 for each of their staff to celebrate the yuletide.
Prince Taiwo Oyekan of Lagos Island approved N40,000, rice, chicken and vegetable oil for each staff while young Abdul Ganiy Vinod Obasa of Agege LG was showered with praises by his workers because he approved N42,000, rice, vegetable oil, and Ankara for each worker while his counterpart in Ikeja LG, Akeem Dauda approved N50,000 for each worker, same approved by David Odunmbaku in Ojodu LCDA.
Lagos Mainland LG and its sister council, Yaba LCDA approved N60,000 and N50,000 for each pensionable and non-pensionable staff respectively.
Conversely, knocks continue to trail Bayo Olasoju at Isolo LCDA for not taking the workers’ yuletide celebration seriously.
“He did not care if we celebrated or not. He gave us only N20,000 and we know what his colleagues paid to their workers,” a staff of the council told thegazellenews.com
According to this medium’s findings, Isolo paid the staff in cash contrary to the norm of cash transfer.
“Apart from that, some staff who went for their promotion examinations were not paid. This is the first time we will be asked to queue to collect Christmas package,” the staff lamented.
Other councils with low package include: Ijede LCDA, N25,000; Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, N25,000 and Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA, N25,000.
Many have attributed the bumper festive packages for council workers in the state to increase revenue allocation championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, well implemented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State.
