First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has commended the courage, dedication and selfless service of humanitarian workers who bring hope and relief to people affected by conflict, disasters and other emergencies.

She made this known in a message issued on Wednesday, 19 August, 2026 to mark this year’s World Humanitarian Day, themed “Strengthening Global Solidarity and Empowering Local Communities.”

The First Lady explained that this year’s theme reminds the world that lasting humanitarian action depends on protecting aid workers, strengthening global solidarity, and empowering local communities to lead sustainable responses to crises.

She called on Nigerians and the international community to continue standing together in compassion, uphold the dignity of every human life, and support those who work tirelessly to serve the vulnerable.

Tinubu concluded her message by wishing humanitarian workers and stakeholders a happy World Humanitarian Day 2026.
