
The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, Hon. (Alh) Hassan Kamorudeen Okanlawon, on Thursday, 30 October, 2025, received the esteemed delegation of the Akinrun-in-Council, led by the High Chief Odofin of Ikirunland, at the Council Secretariat.
During the visit, the traditional leaders expressed gratitude to God for the life of the Chairman and his cabinet. They commended the administration’s early steps and urged the Chairman to focus on developmental projects, inclusiveness of traditional institutions in governance, and strengthening unity across the entire Local Government Area.

The council particularly emphasized the need for visible infrastructure growth, food security, and improved security of lives and properties across Ifelodun. They reaffirmed their readiness to support initiatives that promote peace, unity, and sustainable development.
In his response, the Executive Chairman warmly welcomed the royal delegation and expressed appreciation for their visit and fatherly support. He emphasized the importance of unity among traditional rulers, stressing that collaboration and a shared vision anchored in the values of the forefathers would drive the growth of Ikirun and the entire Ifelodun.
Hon. Okanlawon assured the Akinrun-in-Council of his commitment to serve with integrity and passion, promising not to let them down. He pledged to use his position to advance the development of Ifelodun beyond expectations and make every effort count for the betterment of the grassroots.

He concluded by requesting continuous support, prayers, and guidance from the traditional rulers to ensure full realization of grassroots development and autonomy.
