Workers of Alimosho Local Government, under the umbrella of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), have commended the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, for his remarkable achievements within his first one hundred days in office.
Speaking during the event, the Chairman of NULGE (Alimosho Chapter), Comrade Gbenga Afolabi, praised the administration for its transformative impact within a short time.

According to him, “I am saying this publicly and with no pretence—this administration has, within the shortest time, demonstrated what has marvelled everyone. Some of us have been here for years, but what we are witnessing today feels like true governance. The achievements are enormous: workers are now attending trainings and seminars, several offices and departments have been given a new look, and our imprests, among other benefits, have been restored.”
He added that the workers’ welfare had been elevated to an unprecedented level under the current administration. “The best way to reciprocate the Chairman’s efforts is to intensify our commitment to boosting revenue for the council,” he said.
Also speaking, the Council Manager, Dr. Idowu Banjoko, described the Executive Chairman as “a workers-friendly leader” and urged staff members to remain upright, diligent, and ensure that government revenue is properly accounted for and not diverted.
In his response, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson expressed appreciation to the workers and encouraged them to uphold the ethics of the civil service. “As a government, we will continue to ensure your welfare is prioritized. We will not deprive you of any entitlement or benefit due to you. However, I urge you to remain dedicated to your duties. Let us all understand that revenue generation is the lifeline of any successful government,” he said.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a commendation award to the Executive Chairman and his Vice Chairman in recognition of their outstanding service delivery.
In a related development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Wing in Alimosho also honoured the Chairman with an award at its youth meeting. The group praised him for transforming governance in the local government and demonstrating that public service is not rocket science, noting that his open-door policy has set a new standard for leadership.
