The Special Investigation Team put up by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to probe the activities of the Central Bank of Nigeria during the tenure of Godwin Emefiele has summoned the Chairman of Titan Trust Bank, Chief Tunde Lemo to appear before it unfailingly on Thursday, 28 December, 2023, reports thegazellenews.com

Lemo, a former Deputy Director of the Apex Bank, was ordered to appear before the team alongside with two shareholders of the Bank: Cornelius Vink and Raul Savara unfailingly at 2pm on Thursday, 28 December, 2023.

The invitation letter dated Sunday, 24 December, 2023, was signed by Eloho Okpoziakpo, Head of Operations of the Office of the Special Investigator.

It ordered the trio to appear before the team at Department of Force Intelligence domiciled inside the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The invitation letter stated that the trio are needed to provide information and insight into the operations of the Bank and how it was acquired. They were also expected to submit documents relating to the acquisition of the Bank.

The duo of Vink and Savara had earlier been invited to meet with the Special Investigator but failed to do so citing the excuse that they were outside the country then on medical ground.

Even the documents they promised to submit were not submitted.

Lemo has earlier met with the Special Investigator but gave contradictory statement in public contrary to what he said at the meeting with the Special Investigator.

This promted the Special Investigator to issue the compelling order for the trio to appear before his team unfailingly on Thursday, 28 December, 2023.
